Darren McCarty, 36 on April 1, agreed Monday to a one-year deal believed to be worth $475,000 plus incentives. He is being kept in Grand Rapids, where he has been playing, on a two-week conditioning stint. It is the toughness that they need back in the lineup! Hopefully, anyway.
