Now it's looking like a car!

Mark's car is starting to look like a race car now. Racing at Norway started last weekend and we were rained out last night. Mark is hopeful to get his car ready to race in two weeks. The chasis and body still need to be painted, then the engine can be dropped in and racin' can begin for Mark. Last week Ron in A40 Super Stock won the opening night! It is a great way to start the season for the 2 time defending Champ!

Graduation Day

Olivia graduated from kindergarten today. Her class walked in and around and she played the bells during a song. Afterward, she is showing off her certificate and having some cake and punch. Way to go Liv! Good luck in 1st grade next year!

Shut Out!

The Wings are up 2 games to none over the Pittsburg Penguins. Goaltender Chris Osgood hasn't allowed a goal in either game and it is only the fourth time in the history of the Stanley Cup for this to happen.

Weekend at the Cottage

We spent most of the time this past weekend at the cottage. We had fun riding the four wheeler and ranger. Olivia helped out by cutting up some mushrooms for dinner and Patyon enjoyed eating some corn on the cob. The girls also like playing in the dirt next to my truck and my mom spent time writing in her journal, as she does each day she spends at the cottage.

Moon and Pizza!

Oops! One picture is of the full moon the other night when I got home and the other is the pizza I cooked for a little over two hours, after I "fell asleep." I check the pizza and it had about 2 minutes left before I was going to tear it apart. Well..... it was in for a little longer that two minutes.

Motorhomin' to the Cottage

My parents stopped by to pick the kids up and head to the cottage. The kids were excited to get into the motor home and head out of this town. We left about an hour behind them. We love heading to the cottage. It is suppose to be a family weekend and we were given some nice weather for a change of pace. Yipee!
Racing starts tonight and I am missing the opening night. I will be at the track next Friday. It is hard to imagine they will survive without me, but I think they will manage just fine, if not better!

It's Out!

Olivia's tooth finally came out! It had a little help from dad and telling her she couldn't go to the cottage until the tooth was out. I was able to get my fingers on it and pull that bad boy right out! Of course she was going to the cottage either way, but she doesn't need to know that.

Olivia and Payton had some fun with my parents. They stopped over with their motor home and headed for long journey to Kids Kingdom, round trip was approximately 28 blocks. Liv is losing a front tooth, pictures to follow when it finaly falls out, and Payton had fun running around inside Kids Kingdom.

The Hot Spot!?

The local watering hole that was a hot spot has acutally become a hot spot. We have lost Lundlanders to a fire last night and today. Nobody was hurt and the fire is still smoldering. A picture above is from New Year's. Will it come back bigger and better after the fire, my guess is we have seen the last of this establishment.

Gladstone volunteer fireman Jon Golzynski was quoted saying, "It was a hot burning fire and we couldn't get in to stop it. Buildings this old just burn so fast and hot, it is hard to contain quickly."

You Scream, I Scream....

Although the weather wasn't ice cream type weather, we took the kids down to the Diary Flo for a treat. Olivia, the shy one, posed for a picture and Payton took over Carries hot fudge sundae. Summer isn't too far off now, but the weather hasn't shown any sign of warming up yet.

Not Quite Ready

Mark's car is coming along, but he has been caught at work and his car won't be ready for opening night of racing at Norway. Ron's car is up and ready to three-peat! Hopefully Mark's car will be read for week 2, but more than likely week 3.

Worth a Try!

Although a cartoon, it might be worth a try. I know I have free towing for my truck and pay for it on my insurance plan to have it for Carrie's car, maybe sometime I will attempt to try this.

Weekend Fun!

Carrie and I took the girls to Ramada Inn in Marquette for the night yesterday. Olivia loves swimming in the pool and Payton was getting her first crack at going in since last year. She was pretty content sitting on the steps and occasionally taking a chance and going down another step into the deeper water. She also let Carrie and I take her around the pool, but she had a death grip around our necks while out in the pool. The one blur is a pic of Olivia jumping into the pool.

We also ran into Andrea and her two girls, Camryn and Avery, at Kid's Cove. Liv played with the tractor scoop and Payton, in background, headed for the swings. Camryn and Olivia posed for a picture on the tire drop swing. Thanks Girls! I tried to get pics of Payton and Avery at the "Cove," but they were too busy and pretty much ignored all parents.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Not really anything special about this day for my family or I, except that in my college years it was another reason to go 0ut and drink a few cervesas! A little history for you if you are interested:

A Mexican holiday came to the nation's capital Sunday, as Washington joined in Cinco de Mayo celebrations. The National Mall rang to the soundsir of authentic Mexico music and dancing, with traditional food laid on to add to the fiesta feel. Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico's defeat of the French in a battle on May 5, 1862. Many people mistakenly believe the holiday is Mexico's independence day, but Mexico celebrates that on Sept. 16. This commemorates a call for independence from Spain on Sept. 16, 1810.

Mark's car is coming along. There is only 3 weeks till the start of the season and it is hopeful that his car will be ready. Ron's car is ready to roll and poised to win a 3rd straight championship. Above, Mark's car has the rear end complete, the inside firewall done, and now heading to the front end before getting painted and body put on for good. We are expecting for it to be done for week 1 on May 24th.

Wedding Bliss

We had an enjoyable time this past weekend. Olivia and Payton had a fun time at Bree and Mike's wedding on Saturday. The kids loved going outside and playing with the water fountains. I couldn't get a good picture of Olivia dancing and doing the YMCA or Locomotion. Fun was had by all and Bree and Mike make a great couple!

On to Greener Fairways

I have sold my beloved Club Car Golf Cart. It was hard to part with, but I figured I should take the money and run. Working at the Terrace Bluff has given me the opportunity to sell the cart and have carts to use. Olivia loved it more than I did and gave it a kiss good-bye before it left. Who says I won't get another one in the near future?
