Mark has the windshield and side windows in and ready to roll. It is getting ever so close to being ready to race. Most of the brake lines are in and the car should be going to get painted this week or next with the possibility of racing July 11th. Mark keeps getting called to work and that damn job gets in the way of completing his car.

Happy Birthday Mom!
It was mom's birthday today and she showed her pleasure with turning 54! Payton had fun playing blocks with cousin Grady. It was fun day but we wish the weather could have turned a little better. Someone somewhere says summer is here, but the temperature could disagree much more. Anyway, Joe and Sharon, Dave and Cheryl, LeeLee and Ivey and Grady, Ann and Joe, and my family had a good time talking and eating. Happy birthday mom!

SEUL CHOIX POINTE LIGHTHOUSE
We took a trip with my mom and dad today to the Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse in Gulliver, just outside of Manisitique. It is my dad's 56th Birthday today and he wanted to have us all together on a ride for the day. Of course, they had to keep Olivia for the night, because she won't take no for an answer. The kids got to swim in Lake Superior yesterday and Lake Michigan today. How many kids get that opportunity in consecutive days?

Autrain River for Swimming and Fun!
Carrie and I took the kids for a little ride up to the Autrain River today. Olivia and Payton had fun swimming and playing in the sand. Payton made here way over to a couple from Toledo, Ohio. They had bow wow's and Payton had to go see them. Coco and Bud Light were happy to greet Payton and Olivia took over throwing a ball into the the river for them to chase. Payton was knocked under by the dogs at one point, but Carrie was quick and saved Payton from the clutches of the mighty Autrain River! All is well that ends well.

Starting to Look like a Racecar
Mark's car is not too far away from being ready to race. Jon and Nocker got the front end done is 1st picture, Mark completed the rear end, which we found was junk from the factory, and the others are what the car is looking like as it is ready to sit on the ground. This next week the car will be reassembled-engine, transmission, radiator, brakes and lines, gas housing unit, and body. Things that are going to go quickly and racing is hopefull for next week!

Fire, pain, and meditation
Last night I sat around my campfire by myself. Carrie sat with me for half hour or so, but then is was me and the flames till 2 am and no beer because of the antiboitic I am on for diverticulits. I was having a hard time going to bed in getting ready for my doctor's appointment this morning. Anyway, it was theraputic but did nothing for my worries. I have a colonoscopy schedueled for July 23rd and his suggestion is to have elective surgery to remove part of my colon because people my age, 34, don't usually have the perferations and level of diverticulitis that I do. It is more common in people in their 50's and 60's. He informed me that there is no known reason for diverticulitis and has been shown to be hereditary. He gave me a perscription for 10 more days of antibiotics, but not the VICODIN. No beer till early July and VICODIN will run out way before then! Bastard! Of course this has been a great day of joy, but I think I need to find a second opinion. Anyone got any ideas?

Happy 2nd Birthday Payton!
Payton is 2 years old today! Here she is pictured with her inch worm bike and friend Bayley. I have a bunch more pictures, but the wouldn't download to my website. She and we had a great time and thank all for coming. The kids had fun playing on the swing set, with the girls toys, and dancing to "Weenie Man." If you have kids or a good memory from your childhood, you probably know this song. It is one of my favorites and makes you laugh when you hear it sung!
I Got Weak Guts!
This past week has been a hard one on the ole body. My guts have been hurting since Monday, so I finally went to the doctors yesterday and I have diverticulitis. The vicodin has helped the pain and has made me wonder why I waited so long to go. Diverticulitis is a common digestive disease particularly found in the large intestine. Diverticulitis develops from diverticulosis, which involves the formation of pouches (diverticula) on the outside of the colon. Diverticulitis results if one of these diverticula becomes inflamed.

First Swim of the Year
Olivia and Payton got to play in the sprikler and pool today at my mom and dad's. They also got to enjoy a blue moon ice cream cone and then swim with Christian and Aiden after they stopped by on a walk with their mother. Summer is here and Olivia lives in a swimsuit and I don't think Payton is far behind.

Painting the Picnic Table
Olivia was busy doing a chore today. I started to stain the kid's picnic table, but Olivia wanted to finish it. She is earning stars towards another webkins doll. She did a pretty good job, but will probably going to need to go back and touch up.
In other news for the rest of you, I am now off for the summer! I have two days this upcoming week for meetings and conferences, then no workin' till September. Have a great summer because I know I will!

Wear Your Safety Gear!!
MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) -- A car plowed into a weekend bike race along a highway near the U.S.-Mexico border, killing one and injuring 10 others, police said. The 28-year-old driver was apparently drunk and fell asleep when he crashed into the race, said police investigator Jose Alfredo Rodriguez. A photograph taken by a city official showed bicyclists and equipment being hurled high into the air by the collision. Authorities said the wreck happened 15 minutes into the 34-kilometer (21 mile) race Sunday along a highway between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.
Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary to my mom and dad! June 2, 2008 they celebrated 36 years of marriage! They went on their second honeymoon to the Keweenaw today and avoided any complications of a party at home. I'm sure it was full of jam packed excitement.

'Uncontacted tribe' sighted in Amazon
(CNN) -- Researchers have produced aerial photos of jungle dwellers who they say are among the few remaining peoples on Earth who have had no contact with the outside world. Taken from a small airplane, the photos show men outside thatched communal huts, necks craned upward, pointing bows toward the air in a remote corner of the Amazonian rainforest.
